Effective at sunrise on Saturday, September 22, 2012, the temporary emergency shellfish closure in Oyster Bay Harbor has been rescinded.
Accordingly, the harvest of oysters from the following areas is permitted, effective at sunrise on Saturday, September 22, 2012:
Town of Oyster Bay Harbor (north shore): All the normally certified shellfish lands in Oyster Bay Harbor lying westerly of a line extending southerly from the stone house at Plum Point (Centre Island) to the northwestern most point of Cove Point on Cove Neck.
Note: The normally certified portions of Oyster Bay Harbor were re-opened to the harvest of all other shellfish on August 4, 2012.
