It is with great enthusiasm that I join Friends of the Bay as the new Executive Director. As a lifelong devotee of the outdoors and an environmental volunteer, I could not be more honored to work towards the mission of Friends of the Bay to protect, preserve and restore the beautiful and bountiful Oyster Bay/Cold Spring Harbor estuary.
My background in the non-profit world — most recently at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and most extensively as the director of the Northport Historical Society — has prepared me for the challenges ahead for the organization. Previous to those positions, I worked at Hofstra University for more than 15 years in various positions including public relations, admissions, and the New College Dean’s Office.
I am grateful for the opportunity to help make a difference to the quality of our local, natural resources. Water quality is everyone’s business, and Friends of the Bay’s Watershed Action Plan is the guide by which we hope to accomplish keeping the bays and harbors pristine. The goals set forth by the Plan, while lofty, are attainable and I look forward to working with local organizations, officials and you to make them happen.
Thank you for your past and future support!
